Clarissa Krabsen (Bain) passed away February 17, 2018 in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 95 years. Born at Port Arthur, Ontario, Clarissa met and married Lowry Krabsen on
December 31, 1943 prior to his service overseas as a navigator with the RCAF. Following the war, they
returned to farm in the Rosebud area. Clarissa fully embraced farm life. She loved her garden and always had a hot meal on the table for family and friends. Widowed in 1979, Clarissa left the farm and moved to Drumheller, then Strathmore, and Prince of Peace Manor, Calgary. Clarissa was predeceased by her husband Lowry, twin brother Clarence Bain (1943 Sicily), brothers Wallace, Lorne and her sister Nellie. She is survived by her sisters Ida Crocker (Ottawa) and Gladys Beggs (Sarnia) Ontario. Clarissa will be remembered for her deep love of family. She leaves to grieve her four daughters: Nancy (Colin) Berrett of Calgary, Janet (Walter) Bolinger of Strathmore, Judy (Howard) Barber of Vernon, B.C., Gwen (Robert) Bolinger of Gleichen and a son Gary (Bev) Krabsen of Rosebud. Remembering with love their Grandma K are grandchildren Ryan (Julie) Berrett, Mark Berrett (Candice Horne), Howard Bolinger (Jayna Holroyd), Nicole (Rick) Armstrong, Kirsti Barber (Dylan Cooper), Sarah Barber, Isaac (Sylvia) Bolinger, Emily (Kyle) Corner, Andrew Bolinger (Karen Choi), Amanda Ezekiel, Aaron Krabsen (Blaine Peterson) and Garrison (Joanna) Krabsen. Grandma K is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, February 23, 2018 at Strathmore United Church at 2:00 pm. Clarissa will be laid to rest beside her husband Lowry in the Drumheller cemetery.
