John Renkema “JR” passed away peacefully at the Drumheller Health Centre Friday, June 2, 2017 after a short, courageous battle with cancer at the age of
68 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Cindy (Larry) Poland, granddaughters, Tori (Azraie), Kyley, and Shelby, mother Aaffien Renkema, brothers Ralph, Leendaert, and Nick Renkema, many nieces and nephews and lifelong friend Edie Renkema. He is predeceased by infant son Curtis Renkema, father Klaas Renkema, siblings Wiebe Renkema and sister Johanna Carbert. The family wishes to thank Dr. Mpisi, Dr. Mattier, and the nursing staff at the Drumheller Health Centre and some very special NA’s (you know who you are). A Celebration of Life luncheon will be held at the Elim Pentecostal Fellowship Hall (old Central School), 245 3rd Street West, Drumheller at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 10, 2017.
