Corey, cherished wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend to many, passed away March 17, 2017 in Olds, AB surrounded by her loving family. Corey will always be remembered for her generosity and desire to help others. Everyone will miss her beautiful brown smiling eyes, her outgoing attitude and her ability to find the positive in any situation. Corey was born on December 24, 1970 in Camrose, AB. She spent her childhood in Edmonton before moving to Drumheller at age 11. Corey graduated from Drumheller Composite High School in 1988 and was that year awarded the Alberta Junior Citizen of the Year. Corey married her beloved husband and best friend Lorne Thompson in 1995, and was a loving mother of two sons, Justin Turner (b. 1991) and Brandon Thompson (b. 1996). The family of four made Olds their home in 2004 where they created new friendships and memories. Corey loved vacations with her family and always had a book on the go. In 2006 Corey became a proud Civilian Member of the RCMP, as a dispatcher, where she brought her enthusiasm, dedication, and humour to work each day helping countless people. In addition to her husband and two sons, Corey is survived by her father Ronald Favell (Cheryl), father- and mother-in-law Frank & Georgina (née Ewing) Thompson, sister Connie (née Favell) Knox (Kelly), brother Brad Cyca (Michelle), sister Danielle (née Cyca) Wong (Craig), brother Curry Favell (Kirsten), sister-in-law Laura (née Thompson) Lowen (Doug), and numerous loving nieces and nephews. Corey was predeceased by her mother Frances (née Keinick) Favell, sister Ronalee Favell, and loving grandmother Esther (née Nyrie) Mosa.
