It is with heavy hearts that the family of Kelly Carnahan announces his passing on March 10, 2017 at the Red Deer Hospital after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Kelly will be greatly missed by his wife Debbie, his son Jaye (Mylinda), his daughter Mande (Maren), his grandchildren (Evan, Madelaine, Regan, Aaron, Lachlan and Rebekah), his sister Sherry (Gerry), and his extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Val and Mildred Carnahan, and his son Shane. Kelly was born in Broadview, SK and grew up in Three Hills and Hanna. After school he moved to Calgary then settled in Edmonton during his career with CN Railway. Kelly had a great love for music and when his high school band from Hanna - Odium Reproach - got back together after 20 years, he was thrilled to be one of the Hanna Rock & Roll Reunion musicians. He had a blast bringing back memories. Kelly and Debbie retired to Drumheller in 2009. The family wishes to thank Dr. Kuschke, Tammy and Wendy at the Drumheller Cancer Centre, as well as all of the doctors and nursing staff of Unit 31 and the dialysis unit at the Red Deer Hospital. A heartfelt thank you also goes out to Gay Lam and Dr. Wu at the Thrombosis Clinic in Edmonton for your help and support. As per Kelly’s wishes, a funeral is not being held but a drop in reception will be held at the Cretaceous Conference Centre (Canalta Jurassic Inn) in Drumheller on March 24 from 2-5 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made directly to the Drumheller Cancer Centre.
