Condolences to the family of REGINALD GEORGE TREPANIER

TREPANIER, REGINALD (REG) GEORGE

October 24, 1946 - January 3, 2017

Reginald George Trepanier was born October 24, 1946 in Drumheller, Alberta the oldest child of Leo and Hilda Trepanier. As a member of a railroad family, Reg spent the early part of his childhood years living in various places in Alberta and Saskatchewan. In the early 1950s the family was stationed in Carbon, Alberta where his Dad, Leo was the Station Master and where Reg attended Carbon School. Reg was very fond of the joke of the day, trains, baseball, curling and music. He loved to sing and play the piano. He and his Dad had a band and performed at many community functions. His foot stomping rhythm would often register over 4.6 on the Richter Scale. From the field of entertainment Reg entered a new venture and was an entrepreneur in the hospitality business and became the proud owner of a renowned restaurant known as the Rabbit Hole from 1968 to 1999. Reg was also involved in the community and was a member of the Carbon Lions Club and an active member of the Carbon Legion Branch #161. On Reg’s sudden passing January 3, 2017 he leaves to mourn, his sister Marlis Wright, his brother-in-law, Donny Appleyard, his nieces and nephews, Jason (Shawna), Tanis (Steve), Brad, Troy (Rachelle) and 11 great nieces and nephews Cole, Sasha, Connor, Keegan, Kalli, Emily, Brooklyn, Kenzie, Ryley, Cadence, Sarah. He was predeceased by his parents, Leo and Hilda, sister Judy Appleyard and brother-in-law Gerald Wright. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Parish in Drumheller at 11:00 AM and a memorial luncheon will be held at the Carbon Community Centre after the service. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Carbon Legion Branch #161 or the charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements by Courtney-Winter’s Funeral Home Drumheller, Alberta.
