BOE, ERNA CHRISTINE
December 14, 1919 - January 2, 2017
Mrs. Erna Christine Boe, a longtime resident of the Dalum Community passed away on January 2, 2017 at the age of 97 years. Erna was born on December 14, 1919 in Chancellor, Alberta to Marius and Esther Jorgensen. Erna grew up in the Dalum area, attending the Dalum School, upon completion of school, Erna went to Olds College to take Home Economics. Erna married Hans Boe April 16, 1941 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Dalum. The couple had three children, Brian, Linda and Irene. Erna and Hans raised their family in the Dalum Community. Erna was very active in the Dalum Community, starting the Friendship Club, Erna hosted the first meeting in her home. Erna was a wonderful cook, baker and seamstress. Erna took pride in homemaking, and caring for her family. She enjoyed doing handi-work such as knitting, needle-point and crocheting. Most important to Erna was her family, and spending time with them. She will be profoundly missed by her loving family. Erna was predeceased by her parents, two sisters,
Margaret Jorgensen, Lois Jorgensen, and her husband Hans. Erna leaves to cherish her memory, son Brian (Gaye) Boe of Dalum, Linda McGrath of Airdrie, Irene Zimmer of Red Deer, 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, sister, Clara Poulsen, brother, Arnold (Lorraine) Jorgensen and numerous nieces and nephews. A Service of Remembrance will be held Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Dalum, with Pastor Dan Hendrickson officiating. A time of fellowship and light refreshments will follow at the Dalum Community Hall.
