HAWKINS, James Verne (Jim)

James Verne “Jim” Hawkins passed away in Kirkland, WA, U.S.A. Jim was born in Drumheller, Alberta, April 22, 1934 where he attended school graduating grade 12 Class of 1952. He attended University of Alberta, graduating in Commerce in 1955 with first class standing and was awarded the Gold Medal in Commerce. He articled with the firm of Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. and obtained his Chartered Accountant status in 1958. Jim practised in Calgary and Vancouver for over fifty years as a self employed practitioner. Jim is survived by his wife Rhoda of over 50 years, brother Don and sister Helen. In 1990 Jim semi-retired in Calgary and in 1996 Jim and Rhoda moved to Kirkland, WA, where he retired from practice. Jim had a gift for being kind and touched many lives in his own special way. He will remain forever in my heart and memory.
