WILSON, ALICE MARGARET

August 14, 1933 - November 23, 2016

Alice Margaret Wilson of Drumheller, beloved companion of Tony Metz passed away peacefully with her family by her side on November 23, 2016 at the age of 83 years. Alice was born on August 14, 1933 in Drumheller, Alberta to John (Jack) and Agnes Gammie. Alice grew up in the Drumheller area, taking her schooling in Rosebud. In 1952 she moved to the ranch in the Hand Hills. Alice worked various jobs, waitressing, cooking, always hard working. Alice ranched on the family farm her whole life. Alice was a true community person, volunteering at many of the Handhills Rodeo events over her life time, always willing to help out. Alice enjoyed all the things that involve country life, gardening, flowers, long walks, and her many and varied animals, dogs, cats, cows, calves and horses. Family was important to Alice, spending time with them and especially her great grandchildren. She always made time to visit, the coffee was always on for visitors. Alice leaves to cherish her memory, her loving companion Tony, three daughters, Patrica (Jerry) Bordula, Louise Hansen, Bonnie Ripper (Rob Echlin), 8 grandchildren, Nicole Bowman, Quinn Hansen, Zane Hansen, Jessica Ripper, Clayton Ripper, Andrew, Johnny & Jesse Echlin, 4 great grandchildren, Dellrae, Daneeka, Vanessa and Savanna, 1 great great grandson, Roxas, 1 niece, Connie Gammie, 1 nephew, Ed (Tina) Gammie and families and the Metz family. Alice was predeceased by her parents, John (Jack) & Agnes Gammie, brothers, Gerald, Fred, Jim, Billy, 1 grandson Travis Chambers. Funeral Services for Alice will be held Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. from Courtney-Winter’s Funeral Homes, Drumheller, Alberta, Reverend Heather Carlson is officiating. There will be a time of fellowship and light refreshment following the committal service. If friends so desire memorial donations may be made to Drumheller District Humane Society or Drumheller Area Health Foundation (Palliative Care). Courtney-Winter’s Funeral Homes are in care of the arrangements.
