March 7, 1949 - November 18, 2016

It is in loving memory that we announce the passing of Bernie Hotvedt, born March 7, 1949. Bernie will be sadly missed, and happily remembered. Bernie passed away at home surrounded by the love of his wife Anna, daughter Pattie and grandaughter Gracen on November 18, 2016. Bernie leaves behind his wife of 45 years, Anna, his daughter Pattie Valdez (Chris), grandson Sheldon Veldhoen (Ashlee), two grandaughter’s, Allison Veldhoen and Gracen Mandel, his great-grandaughter Harper Whitehouse, as well as his siblings, Gloria Skene (Bill), Donna Prafke (Bob), Asta Schmalz, Neil Hotvedt (Deborah), Linda Hotvedt, Lilie MacInnis, Deanna Moseng (Travis), as well as his many nieces, nephews, extended family members and good friends. Bernie was predeceased by his parents Henry and Mabel Hotvedt, his brother Bob Hotvedt, two brothers in law, Lea Schmalz and John MacInnis as well as a son in law, Alan Veldhoen. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at the East Coulee Community Center at 1:00 PM to honour Bernie’s life, love and friendship. Anna, Pattie and family wish to extend a sincere and heartfelt thank you to the following for your warmth and support throughout this journey.
