KASHUBA, STEPHEN

November 7, 1946 – October 28, 2016

Stephen passed away peacefully at home after a lengthy battle with diabetes. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Carol of 49 years, his sons Kevin (Shelley) and Kelly (Clare). He was devoted to his grandchildren: Brady, Kara, Travis, Rhiannon, Lillian and Alisha. Stephen was predeceased by his parents Nick and Lena, brothers David, his twin brother Larry, grandson Mathew, and in-laws Bill and Margaret chambers. He is survived by brothers Walter (Kathy), George (Maureen), Dennis, sister Susan and sister-in-law Anna Kashuba. He is also survived by Carol’s family Mick (Marg), Bob (Cathy), Dennis (Debbie) Chambers and Jeanette (Jim) Sutherland. Stephen was loved by many nieces and nephews. After high school Stephen got his mechanics license and worked in Rumsey, Trochu, and Drumheller, before returning to the family farm in Rumsey. After 37 years he retired from farming and took up mechanics again in his shop. He always enjoyed his happy hours in the shop with his family and friends. Stephen was an active member of the Rumsey community. He was caretaker and ice-man for the curling rink for 25 years and served on the volunteer Fire Department up to the present day. A celebration of Stephen’s life will be held on Tuesday, November 8th at 2:00 PM in the Rumsey Community Hall. To send condolences, please visit sunsetltd.ca
