Condolences to the family of DONALD STEVENS

Mr. Donald Stevens of Delia, Alberta, husband of Myrna Stevens passed away suddenly on September 28, 2016 at the age of 75 years. Don was born on March 10, 1941 to parents Percy and Margorie Stevens at Kenton, Manitoba. He received his schooling in Kenton, Manitoba. He left Manitoba and moved west in 1959 where he met Myrna in 1963 at Carstairs, Alberta. He joined the R.C.M.P. in 1964 and on June 10, 1967, Don and Myrna were married. He left the R.C.M.P. in 1968 to follow his true passion of farming. Don and Myrna started farming in Iron River, Alberta, moving to Avonlea, Saskatchewan in 1976. They then moved to present day ranch in 1997. His life was his family, grandchildren and ranching. He loved to spend time with his cattle and made pets of many of them. Besides his wife Myrna Stevens, Don is survived by his three sons, Dallas (Bonnie), Marlyn (Terri), Travis (Melinda), grandchildren, Aaron Smith, Dakoda, Jordan, Kelby (Tenille), Justin, Tyson, Cole, Tanner, Connnor, Faith and Dayne, four great grandchildren. Three sisters, Marg (Larry), Sharon (Wally), Gwen (Doug), and brother in law, Ray. Don was predeceased by his parents, Percy and Margorie, brothers, Bob and Harvey and sister, Kay. A Graveside Service will be held for Don at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at Immanual Cemetery, Maxim Saskatchewan with Reverend Marge McLeod officiating. Courtney-Winter’s Funeral Homes are in care of the arrangements.
