Gerry James Blasken of Drumheller, beloved husband of Karen Blasken of 29 years passed peacefully on September 18th, 2016 at the age of 60 after a brief fight with cancer. Gerry was born September 17th, 1956 in Drumheller to John and Helen Blasken. He lived in Midland his entire life, moving only a few blocks from where he grew up. Gerry had a passion for sports especially golf and hockey. He spent his summers in the field farming after he married Karen, and winters in the garage woodworking. Besides his wife Karen, Gerry is survived by his two sons, Cody and Dillan (Shelby), his brother Ed (Sylvia), niece Debra and family, nephew Scott (Jodie) and family. Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life on Monday, October 3, 2016 at the Badlands Community Facility at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to S.T.A.R.S. Courtney-Winter’s Funeral Homes are in care of the arrangements.
