SARGENT, Mildred Hazel

May 25, 1928 - July 11, 2016

We are saddened by the passing of Mildred Hazel Sargent, Aged 88, on July 11, 2016 in the Drumheller long term care. Born May 25, 1928, in Drumheller, Hazel was the daughter of Mabel and Harris Lowe. Hazel went to school in Michichi. After school, she worked in Murdoch’s
General store in Michichi, where she met Tom Sargent and they were married June 30, 1948. Tom and Hazel lived on the family farm. Tom and Hazel also lived and worked at a small gold mine in Lillooet, BC from 1956 - 59 and then returned to the family farm where they resided until they retired. During retirement, Hazel enjoyed bus trips, a cruise to Alaska and the Caribbean. Hazel also greatly enjoyed riding along with Bob. Hazel was predeceased by Tom in August 1991. Survived by her son Bob, wife Amanda (children Jon, Brad and Ocean), daughter Linda, husband Kevin, grandchildren Bradley (Andrea), Tyson (Kristi) and Leah (Kevin) and five great-grandchildren, Brody, Lilyana, Patrick, Maeve and Clara. Hazel was predeceased by her parents and siblings, Bill, Elmer, Art and Gordon Lowe, sister Isabelle Miles. Survived by sister-in-law
Marion Lowe. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 14, 2016 at the Delia Community Center at 1:00 pm. A graveside service will take place in the Delia cemetery. Following the graveside service lunch will be served in the Delia hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to STARS or the Alberta Children’s Hospital.
