With heavy hearts and great sadness, we announce the passing of our Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother, Auntie and friend Patricia. At the time of her passing she went peacefully surrounded by her loving daughters. Mom was born on April 27, 1933 as Patricia Elender Shoemaker, in Swastika, AB to Sanford Shoemaker and Jean (Howard) Shoemaker. Mom had one brother Virgil Shoemaker and Sister Rosemary Kadey. Mom went to school in the small town of Nightingale. On April 26, 1958 Mom married Raymond Moore where they resided in Calgary. Mom and Dad had 6 daughters whom are Bonnie (Scott) Weaver, Val (Dean) Larsen, Bev (Mark) Heilman, Lyne (Joe) George, Brenda McLellan, Tammy (Brad) Rent. Mom was Auntie to Glenn (Judy) Rumley, Laurie (Tracy) Cox and Terry (Kim) Kadey. At the age of 47 years Mom’s family expanded with the birth of her first grandson Ryan Weaver, followed by Tyler Weaver, Brandy (Chase Heune) Larsen, Devin, Dylan, Conrad & Kayla Larsen, Natasha (Mark) Paul, Jennifer (Christopher) Thorne, Travis (Andrea) Gosling, Charity & Tiffany Gosling, Kevin Jr, Konway, Blake & Braden McLellan, Jennifer (Mathew) Andrew, Joelle McLellan, Tanner, Teagan, Kira and Hailey Rent. Once again at the age of 71 years, mom’s family continued to grow with the birth of her first great-granddaughter Kirsten Bixby-Weaver, followed by Cassidy Bixby-Weaver, Xzyler , Zaymein & Triton Weaver, Cheyenne & Alayna Larsen Heune, Cloe Thorne, Logan & Emerald Gosling, Tyler & Brooklyn Magee, Hailey Gosling, Ella, Easton and Ailsa Andrew. Throughout Mom’s life she worked at Model Dairies in Calgary AB. While raising her six girls, she babysat and had borders. After moving to Hussar mom opened Pats Stationery and Novelty Shop. Mom also cleaned the Hussar Post Office. Later in life she worked at the Diana Restaurant and the Yavis Family Restaurant in Drumheller, Alberta. Mom resided in Drumheller until after the passing of Dad in 2010; Mom moved to Crossfield in December 2010. She had lived there until November 2015 when she was admitted to the Didsbury Hospital. In May of 2016 Mom was moved to Bethany Care Centre in Didsbury. Mom resided in Bethany till her passing on May 27, 2016. Mom was predeceased by her Mother Jean (Howard) Shoemaker, her father Sanford Shoemaker, her Brother Vergil Shoemaker, her Sister Rosemary Kadey, her grandson Bobby - Lee Moore and her husband Raymond Moore. A celebration of Mom’s life will be held on Sunday, June 5th, 2016 at 2:00 pm in the Crossfield Community Hall, there will be a luncheon to follow. If so desired donations may be made in Mom’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Crossfield Fire Department.
