Christine O’Brien, of Morrin, Alberta beloved wife of Steve O’Brien, beloved mother of Connor and Kieran, passed away in Drumheller on February 24, 2016 at the age of 46 years. Christine’s faith wasn’t shaken through the storm. The journey through her illness only strengthened that Christ was her anchor and her hope. Christine was born July 23, 1969 in Drumheller, Alberta to Doug and Janis Siemens (Morrin, Alberta). She moved to Grande Prairie with her family in 1973, attending Brownies, she played the flute beautifully, loved singing and entertaining at family and community events with her siblings. Christine moved back to Morrin in 1981 where she attended Junior and High School. Christine was involved with 4-H sewing and Canskate. After graduation from Morrin, Christine went to Red Deer College for a year and took Interior Design, upon completion Christine moved back home and took Business Management in Drumheller. She met the love of her life, Steve O’Brien and they were married November 25, 1989. At that time she worked at Petro Canada and IGA, the couple moved a few times from Drumheller to Carbon, and settled down in Morrin. Once in Morrin, the couple purchased a home, and Christine started working at Nielsen & Siemens, which became Nielsen & Wolfe and now Western Financial. Christine started working there in 1992 and was a dedicated insurance agent for 23 years. She was blessed with her first son Connor in 1996, and her second son Kieran in 2004. Christine loved camping and her holidays with family. She was beautiful inside and out. Christine’s relationship with Jesus was the core to how she lived her life, whether assisting insurance clients or laughing with family, the character of Christ was reflected. She always saw the good in everyone. “I have set the Lord always before me, because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken”.
