DIETRICH, Gordon (Gordie)
June 22, 1954 - January 22, 2016
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gordon Edward Dietrich. Gord passed away peacefully after a very long but brave fight with cancer with his family by his side. Gord was born June 22, 1954 in Vulcan, Alberta to Edward and Jeanette Dietrich. Gord loved farming, fishing, horseshoes, and playing lots of practical jokes. Gord always made time for a visit. Gord will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 25 years, Brenda; his sons, Scott, Joey (Dale-lee), Travis; sisters, Diane (John) Celik, Darlene (Nicky) Sereda, Sharon (Tony) Martin; his uncle, Norman (Mary) Hendricks; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and Brenda’s family. Gord was predeceased by his parents, Edward (2003), Jeanette (2010), his mother and father-in-law, Alois & Theresa Wegleitner, and many aunts and uncles. Prayer services for Gord will be held Friday, January 29, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. from St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church. Funeral Mass for Gord will be held Saturday, January 30 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church, luncheon will follow Mass. Family and close friends meet later to lay Gord to rest at the Rumsey Cemetery. If friends so desire memorial donations may be made to Drumheller Area Health Foundation (Community Cancer Clinic) or the Alberta Heart & Stroke Foundation.
