Ruby “Irene” Duncan of Big Valley Alberta, Passed away on Monday December 7, 2015 in Drumheller Alberta of natural causes at the age of 89. Irene was born in Big Valley Alberta to Hans and Matilda Galleberg, She was the youngest of seven children born to them. Irene married Samuel (Sam) Duncan on December 9, 1946 right after high school. The two of them bought a farm SE of Big Valley on the Byemoor Road. Irene worked as a house and farmwife and was kept very busy baking, cooking, gardening and doing crafts. Irene is survived by daughter Sandra (Randy) Pliva of Drumheller, grandchildren Joby (Scott) of Midland, Texas, Jeff (Shawna) of Drumheller, 5 great grandchildren plus many nieces and nephews. Irene will be deeply missed. The celebration of her life will be held at the Big Valley Hall on Friday December 11 at 2:00 pm.
