McKAY, KIM ADELINE

KimMcKay

McKAY, Kim Adeline

Our sister and Aunty passed away suddenly near her home in Zihuatanejo, Guerreo, Mexico. Kim was born to John and Adeline McKay on March 6, 1957, the middle child, and grew up surrounded by four loving brothers Kevin, Bradley, Scott and Shawn. Kim attended school in Drumheller and graduated in Morrin in 1975. Kim had a variety of jobs in and around Drumheller and settled into a very successful career as a contract landman in Calgary. At a very early age Kim showed a love for riding and caring for horses. Her love of animals led her to create Arkeno Kennels, a name that became known for its show champion Papillons and for Kim’s exceptional dedication to showing and promoting the breed. Kim travelled the world showing her dogs and eventually was persuaded to qualify as a show judge. Kim married Murray Berg on March 1, 1986. They lived in Calgary for many years and finally settled in Zihuatanejo. Her generosity touched many peoples lives in and around the Zihuatanejo community. Kim eventually returned to horses, her first love, which in turn renewed her love of life. Kim passed away in the blink of an eye truly doing what she loved. Kim was predeceased by her brother Bradley, father John, grandparents Martha and Adolph; Frieda and Roy, step grandfather Rod and most recently her mother Adeline. Kim is survived by her husband Murray Berg, her brothers Kevin (Linda), Scott (Joyce) and Shawn (Jody), nephews and nieces Bradley, Tyson, Leah, Maxwell, Wallace, Samantha and Macintyre and great nephews and nieces Brody, Lillianna, Patrick, Clara and Maeve. Life showed you so many challenges and you conquered them all. We miss and love you so much. Kim passed away and was cremated in Morelia and a service was held for her in Zihuatanejo all on the same day, November 21, 2015.
