She lived on the farm until 1989 when she moved to Drumheller and lived in the Maple Ridge Manor. This is when she met a good friend Jay Clark. They had many good times together. After Jay passed Abbie moved to Sunshine Lodge. With failing health she moved to Hillview. This last year she was in St. Mary’s continuing care in Trochu. Abbie was a great seamstress and made many articles of clothing including wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses and dresses for flower girls. She made a lot of Judy’s clothes when she was growing up. She won many ribbons for her sewing, knitting and crocheting. Abbie baby-sat for many friends in the area where she would take her suitcase and stay as long as needed. Mom was known as Aunt Abbie to many, wherever she went. She loved to travel and went to many places such as the Toronto Royal Winter Fair, Phoenix, throughout B.C., Caribbean Cruise, Alaska bus trip, travelled throughout Europe with Maude and Mike and a trip to Hawaii with Maude and the Marshall sisters. She was predeceased by her husband Don, parents Kingsley and Alice Morton, siblings Arthur, Lawrence, Phyllis, Charlie, Maude and Roy. The three sisters were very close and all passed away this year.
