Leo passed away peacefully on Friday morning, September 11, 2015 with his family around him after a two year battle with cancer.  He faced his battle bravely, calmly and with acceptance and always remained kind and considerate to others.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.   Leo was born in Drumheller on July 11, 1940 to Sejer and Valborg Jensen.  He grew up and lived his life on the family farm in Dalum.  He went to school in Wayne and later Olds College.  Leo married Eleanor Naffin in 1962 and they were very happily married for 53 years.  There was a strong and special bond with his mother, Eleanor’s parents, his sons and their families, his sisters and their families and Eleanor’s brother’s family.   A love of farming, church and community were very important to him.  Many good times were spent at the lake with an enjoyment of boating and water sports.  Various memorable trips throughout Canada, United States and Europe were enjoyed including a special visit to his mother’s childhood home in Lendum, Denmark. He was an active member of the Drumheller Rotary Club. Leo is survived by his loving wife, Eleanor and by his sons Gregg (Kristina) and Darcy (Shauna); grandchildren, Laura, Steven, Katie, Elena and Eric.  Also surviving are special friend and brother-in-law Svend Dahl; special friend Brent Pedersen; brother-in-law Don (Sandy) Naffin; nieces and nephews Susan, Becky, Laurette (Harvey), Darren (Medi), Todd and Tyler.  He was predeceased by his mother, Valborg and father, Sejer and sisters Ruth Dahl and Rita Lund and brother-in-law Ernie Lund. Funeral services will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Dalum on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with a reception to follow at the Dalum Community Hall.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Leo`s name to the Drumheller Area Health Foundation or the Bethlehem Lutheran Church.  Courtney-Winters Funeral Homes were in charge of arrangements.
