PONTIFEX, Beatrice (Betty) (nee Gostling)
July 21, 1914 - January 2, 2015
Betty went to be with her Lord, January 2, 2015, having attained 100 years in this life. She was born July 21, 1914 to Arthur and Jane Gostling and her childhood was spent in Toronto and Calgary. During the 1930’s she had a brief stay in the Michichi area, working in Calgary prior to marrying Alfred Pontifex and moving to the Morrin area. In 1992 Alfred and Betty started spending their winters in Calgary, retiring there in 1975, then moving to Drumheller in 1999. Betty is predeceased by; her parents, her husband in (2000), her sister Gladys Pontifex in (2007), and her nephew Donald Pontifex in (2011). She is survived by; her brother, Ellis (Isobel) Gostling, two nieces: Debbie (Richard) Brodie and B.J. Tindle, and a nephew Jim (Diana) Gostling, and six great nieces, all of the Vancouver area. Also surviving is one nephew, Gordon Pontifex of Drumheller. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:30 P.M., on Thursday, January 8, 2015, at St. Magloire’s Anglican Church, 176 2nd Street West, Drumheller, AB, with Reverend Alan Getty officiating. A Graveside Service will take place on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at 10:00 A.M., at Queens Park Cemetery.
