Elsie passed away peacefully in her home on December 4, 2013 at the age of 81 years. Elsie was born on April 26, 1932 to Wendelen and Wilhelmina Moench, in Hanna, Alberta. Elsie married Herb Radke on March 25, 1953 in Hanna, Alberta.  They farmed one year in the Hand Hills, then in 1954 moved to a farm north of Craigmyle for 2 years.  In 1956 they left the farm to do road construction where Elsie was the camp cook.  Later that year they moved to Alsask, then to Delia, on to Trochu, Munson, and finally settling in Drumheller for their retirement.  Elsie worked as a housekeeper, then at the lunch counter (Metropolitan) at the Saan Store, and the Old Grouch's before retiring. Elsie was a caring and loving person, who was always devoted to family, friends, and her faith.  She loved going for her Tuesday morning coffee, making lunch for family almost every day and attending any and all special events of her grandchildren, great grandchildren and faithfully attended church every Sunday.  Elsie was so proud of her children, grandchildren and enjoyed all her special great grandchildren. Elsie leaves to mourn her passing; her four children, Lyall (Nancy) Radke, Theresa (Ron) Storch, Kathleen (Murry) Boehm, Lane Radke, eight grandchildren; Jason Radke Holly Radke, Brad (Renee), Storch, Greg (Jannelle) Storch, Kristy (Rick) Norman, Randy(Melissa) Jordan, Nicole Jorden, and Crystal Radke, ten great grandchildren, one sister; Margaret Farwell, numerous nieces, nephews, and a lifetime of friends. Elsie was predeceased by her parents, her loving husband Herb, three brothers, seven sisters, and one grandchild. Funeral services for Elsie were held Tuesday December 10, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. from The Grace Lutheran Church, Drumheller, Alberta with Rev. Curtis Boehm officiating. If friends so desire memorial donations may be made to the Grace Lutheran Church (Stained Glass Fund), 620 2nd Ave. West, Drumheller, AB T0J 0Y3 or Alberta Diabetes Foundation, 1-020 HRIF-East, University of Alberta, Edmonton, AB T6G 9Z9.
