Katalin Kormendy passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2013, at the age of 83 years. Katalin was born on October 29, 1929 in Bataapati, Hungary to Henry and Eva Lofink, and came to Canada in 1949. She married Alexander (Alex) Kormendy in 1951. Katalin and Alex moved to the Delia, Alberta area from Rosedale, Alberta, in 1962 where they farmed and raised their two sons; Alex and David. After Alex Sr.’s death, as well as due to health reasons, Katalin moved into Calgary to live with her son David, where she resided until her passing. Katalin is predeceased by; her parents, and husband, Alex. She is survived by; her sons, Alex and David of Calgary, as well as sister, Eva Diegel of Calgary and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a loving, kind and generous wife, mother and friend, and will be dearly missed by all. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Courtney-Winters Funeral Home at 2:00 P.M., with Reverend Lloyd Huber officiating.
