O’Dwyer, Mary Evelyn
Mary Evelyn O’Dwyer of Drumheller AB passed away on November 20, 2012 at the age of 86 years. She is the loving mother of; Molly (Craig) Benfield of St. Albert AB, Mike (Maymie) O’Dwyer of Innisfail AB, Sue (Don) Waring of St. Albert AB, Jay (Connie) O’Dwyer of Drumheller AB, Art (Alison) O’Dwyer of Calgary AB. Mary had 14 Grandchildren 8 Great Grandchildren. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Michael Arthur O’Dwyer. Mary was a long time resident of Drumheller. She trained as a nurse at the Holy Cross Hospital in Calgary, married Art in 1948 and raised five children of whom she was extremely proud. In 1981 she and Art retired to Radium and Phoenix where they enjoyed travelling, golfing, meeting new friends and where she pursued her love of painting. Her 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren lovingly remember Mary for her sense of humor, her generosity, and her interest in their lives. Mary spent the last eleven years in Drumheller at the Riverview Terrace condos, participating in many activities with friends new and old. Her love of singing was nurtured through her involvement in the Drumheller Pioneer Singers. The family would like to thank the doctors and nursing staff at the Drumheller Community Hospital for their care and compassion during Mary’s illness. A Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church 151- 3St West, Drumheller, Alberta on November 28th at 11:00 A.M. with Father Mario Basque officiating.
