SHADLOCK (David) Walter
February 15, 1930 - September 10, 2012
(David) Walter Shadlock of Hanna AB passed away at the FMC, Calgary AB on Monday, September 10, 2012 following complications of heart surgery. Walter was born February 15, 1930, eldest son of William and Muriel Shadlock of Verdant Valley AB. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Anna Elizabeth (McArthur) of 60 years (Oct.4, 1952) and their surviving children, Joanne (Mike Haworth) and Lawrence (Margaret Weaver). Walter was a loving and gentle soul, a hard working farmer, and an excellent gardener. He was especially proud of his 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Walter is survived by 5 brothers and sisters and their families who will all have fond memories of his stories and great sense of humour. Anna and Walter lived in many rural communities in southern Alberta and made strong bonds with friends that have lasted over the years. A Celebration of Walters’ life was held on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at the First United Church in Hanna AB. The memorial was officiated by Walter and Anna’s nephew, Lyle McArthur. In lieu of flowers his family would appreciate memorial contributions to the Cardio Vascular ICU - Unit 94 at the Foothills Medical Centre. Walter received excellent care at the FMC by the many nurses and doctors. Arrangements entrusted to Alternatives Funeral & Cremation Services of Airdrie, Alberta.
