Dorothy passed away peacefully surrounded by her adoring family. She was predeceased by her husband Bertram, and beloved daughter Valerie, her parents Sam and Ethel Parken, and her sisters Darlene (Fuller) and Shirley (Hawkins). She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her children Michael (Irma) , Albert (Theresa), Robert (Henny), Elaine (Raymond), Sam (Sue), Ellen, Janet, Rita, David (Judy) and Richard (Janet). She is survived and fondly loved by her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Dorothy raised her family on the farm at Carbon, then moved to the village. She spent her later years in Drumheller. Dorothy’s family and her steadfast faith were her purpose and joy. She lived her life with grace, dignity and quiet serenity. Our family would like to express our sincere gratitude to all of the wonderful caregivers at both the Sunshine Lodge and Continuing Care, Dr. Olfert and all medical staff in Drumheller over these past years. Funeral Arrangements are in the care of Courtney WInters Funeral Home. A Mass of Celebration will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, 151 - 3 Street W., Drumheller, on Friday, June 8 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Mario Basque officiating. Family and friends are invited to attend a Prayer Vigil at Courtney Winters Funeral Home on the evening of Thursday, June 7 at 7:30 p.m.
