Frehlick, Gloria
1942 - 2012

Gloria Frehlick (nee Macdonald), passed away in Taber on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at the age of 69 years.
Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Sunday, March 11, 2012 between 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. The Funeral Service was held at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Monday, March 12, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded by visiting our website at www.southlandfuneral.com. Gloria is survived by her daughter Jodene Lynn (Jim) Sekura of Taber; sister Corinne Macdonald of Drumheller; cousins Sandra (Ernie) Kirschenman of Medicine Hat, Sharon Warwick of Ottawa, Ontario; Aunt Oriole O’Dwyer of Calgary, several cousins and her devoted companion Beaner. She was predeceased by her parents Obb and Agnes Macdonald; brother Bobby; grandparents William John & Martha Powell and Cyrus and Gertrude Macdonald as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and her beloved yorkshire terrier Tori. Gloria was born on November 16, 1942 in Drumheller where she was raised and schooled. Upon graduation, she moved to Calgary where she attended Calgary Business College and received a diploma in Business Administration. This began a long faithful career in the work force, no one person is as dedicated as Gloria. She returned to Drumheller and began a job there with the Town of Drumheller, where she worked for approximately fourteen years. In November of 1971 she had a daughter, Jodene. A true miracle as she was diagnosed with cervical cancer and told  not to have the child. However true to her form, Gloria made her own decisions and Jodene was born with no issue. In 1977 Gloria moved to Taber and in 1990 she began working for the Government of Alberta. This is where she flourished, she was home here and the people she worked with were her family. Gloria loved them and the clients immensely. In January cancer revisited and she was determined to beat it once again and return to work. Despite a courageous effort she is now home with the Lord and assisting us in a different capacity.
