Hey Romeo has been nominated for three ACMA awards. The awards ceremony is scheduled for Sunday, January 25,

at Westerner Park in Red Deer.

Hey Romeo is in the running for more awards, this time from the Association of Country Music In Alberta (ACMA).

It was a busy year for the band. Along with this release, they shared the bill with legendary country artist Alan Jackson, Terri Clark and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.
They have also been busy working on the second part of their EP series, due out in 2015.
The ACMA Awards are to be presented at a ceremony on Sunday, January 25 at Westerner Park in Red Deer.

Arrest in Three Hills vehicle theft

RCMP-CREST-COLOUR

A 22 year- old Red Deer  man was arrested Monday night after a mini van was reported stolen to Three Hills RCMP.
RCMP report the blue GMC mini-van was stolen from a Three Hills gas station around 9 p.m. January 12, after the vehicle’s driver left the mini-van unlocked and running while they went into the gas station.
RCMP noticed the stolen vehicle on the outskirts of Three Hills about an hour after its theft. While trying to  get the driver to pull over, the mini-van came to a stop and police say a lone male dashed from the vehicle.
RCMP said they were able to quickly arrest the man and take him into custody.
Police haven’t released the name of the accused, who has been charged with theft of a motor vehicle, driving while unauthorized, and breach of probation.
The accused remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing.
Three Hills RCMP report that break and enters, theft from vehicles, and theft of vehicles is an ongoing issue throughout the detachment area.
They warn that leaving keys in vehicles, leaving vehicles unlocked, and leaving vehicles unlocked and running makes for easy targets for thieves.          RCMP say this incident serves as a reminder to everyone that they should properly lock their vehicles when they leave them.

The Town of Drumheller has increased the chemical used to control taste and odour at its water treatment facility.

The Town of Drumheller has increased the chemical used to control taste and odour in Town water. The Town's decision came after it received several complaints from residents about Drumheller's water quality January 10 and 11. The Town said older water from the raw water cells has moved through the water treatment plant as ice builds up in the reservoir, and the solar bee mixers effective circulation of the water is lessened.  As of Monday morning, the Town said the water being produced at its plant is free of any taste and odour, and Utilities Manager Brian Bolduc said the water is safe for consumption. The Town said they will be adding fresh water to the system where they can, and will continue to closely monitor the situation.
