Fire department responds to call with emergency boat

orkney

The Drumheller and Munson Fire Departments responded to a call shortly after 12:30 p.m. Thursday from canoeists on the Red Deer River down the river from the Bleriot ferry.
The Drumheller fire department launched their emergency craft from Newcastle Beach and fire fighters traveled west up the river to the Orkney viewpoint. Other fire fighters arrived at the point and went to the scene on foot.
Within the hour, the fire department had called off the search after finding no unusual activity.
Drumheller Emergency Services also responded to the call.
