    Advance polls are opening this week for what could be one of the most exciting provincial elections in quite some time.
     Election Day is Tuesday, May 5, however advance polls in the Drumheller-Stettler Riding open as early as today, Wednesday, April 29 and run through Saturday, May 2.
    Advance polls in the Drumheller-Stettler Riding are at the Church of the Nazarene in Drumheller, the Coronation Golden Age Drop-in Centre, the Oyen Senior Centre, the Office of the Returning officer on Centre Street in Hanna and the Stettler Recreation Centre. Polls are open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
    Throughout the riding there will be 74 polling stations. In the local area vicinity, there are polling stations at the Morrin Community Hall, the Munson Community Hall, the Delia Drop-in Centre and the Rumsey Community Hall. In Drumheller, there is a polling station at the Rosedale Community Hall, and 13 polling stations at the Badlands Community Facility.  
    The Polls on Election Day are open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
    To find out where your polling station is, check out page B4 of The Drumheller Mail, or go to www.elections.ab.ca This website will tell you where your polling station is and if you are registered to vote.
    If you are not yet registered to vote, you still can on Election Day. An elector must simply produce a government issued picture identification with their current name and address.
    If a voter does not have a picture id, they can produce two pieces of identification. Both pieces must establish the voters’ name and one must establish the electors’ current address. A list of authorized identification is available at www.electons.ab.ca
