Those in Drumheller wanting to support the construction of a new skatepark now have the opportunity to make their donation go twice as far.
The Drumheller Area Skateboard Enthusiasts (DASE) has been working hard to make the new park a reality. They are hoping to break ground this spring, but are still working hard to raise the funds needed for the project.
This week, the Drumheller Rotary Club and DASE have collaborated on an online campaign to raise funds and hopefully get more to donate.
“The Skatepark falls within the Rotary’s mandate of supporting youth and enhancing the community,” said Scott Kuntz, Rotary President.
The Rotary Club has agreed to match donations up to $15,000 accumulated total. They have posted a page on www.youcaring.com, a crowd sourcing website and says donations made through them will be matched.
Sylvia Adams is the chair  of the Rotary  Skatepark Fundraising Committee.
“I was looking for an easy way the average Drumheller resident  could be a part of this project,” she said. “This initiative through youcaring.com makes the donation process easy.”
All donations over $20 will be issued a donation receipt from the Town of Drumheller.
The campaign will be posted for about 40 more days for residents to get in on the action.
To donate, go to www.youcaring.com and search for DASE. Payments can me made  securely through credit cards or PayPal. Alternative methods of donation  can be arranged by contacting Adams at sylvia.adams@atcoelectric.com.
