What happened to St. Patrick’s Church bell?

A bell dedication ceremony in Delia on Saturday, June 13 took an unexpected twist as a masked gang who are believed to be Metis outlaws rode away with the prized bell from St. Patrick’s Anglican Church. As the ceremony unfolded in Delia, a wagon and horsemen came and demanded the bell. Richard Lucier-larson stood up to the bandits until something was slipped into his pocket, and he too rode away with the bandits.
It is unclear if the staged theft and getaway is connected to the Michif Gathering coming up in Delia from July 3-5.         The third annual event is a celebration of Métis culture and features everything from cuisine and displays to dancing and entertainment. It is an event friendly to all ages, with something everyone can enjoy and learn from.
What is known is the churchgoers that were at the dedication of the bell retired to enjoy a strawberry tea after the alleged theft. It seems this may have happened before.
