The youth charged with accessory after the fact of murder and attempting obstruction of justice in relation to the death of a man near Morrin made a brief appearance in provincial court Friday, June 15.

The 16-year-old female, who cannot be identified due to provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, appeared via closed-circuit television from the Calgary Young Offenders Centre.

An agent, on behalf of defense Andrea Urquhart, requested that the case be put over to future appearance. The youth will appear on Friday, June 29 in provincial court in Okotoks.

The RCMP Major Crime Unit laid charges against the youth on June 5.

In October of 2017 Dylan Howard was charged with one count of first-degree murder in the death of Fazal Rehman, whose body was discovered at the scene of a burning vehicle south of Morrin.
