On the evening of Wednesday March 22, 2017 at approximately 6:40 pm, a Tri-Line Carriers GP Inc. truck was hauling garbage on Highway 9 East towards Drumheller when the driver noticed smoke billowing out of the Trailer.
A dozen Rockyford & District Fire/Rescue personnel arrived in three response vehicles and they quickly began attacking the fire with a pumper truck.
They used chainsaws, axes and thermal cameras to strategically attack the fire in the fully loaded trailer.
The road was closed for over a half an hour while they attacked the fire.
No injuries
