The Town of Drumheller is working with the province to extend support to affected residents of the Rosebud River and Hwy 10X area.
Director of Protective Services Greg Peters highlighted that the residents in need were in good hands and extended his support.
“Those affected have been supplied with my contact information and I encourage them to call me if they have questions or need further assistance at any time now or in the future,” said Peters.
The representatives met with provincial disaster relief caseworkers and an Emergency Management field officer to also assess the areas affected by the high river levels.
Residents were informed by the group of provincial workers of an outline of the recovery assistance process in addition to receiving support from the Town.
The team’s objective is to meet every identified resident who is in need of help.
“I spoke with our field officer this afternoon and he said the meetings were progressing well,” said Peters.
The Town will also submit an application for the recovery assistance on behalf of those affected.
Town staff will follow up with the case workers and field officers after their assessment is complete.
