The Village of Standard replaced some of the water and sewer lines in 2015 and will continue through the Infrastructure Management Plan to replace more of the lines in 2016.
In 2015 the Village sold the first lot in the West Subdivision and the house is already to lockup stage.
In conjunction with neighboring municipalities, the Village formed a partnership called the Wheatland Regional Corporation. Their main focus is to create a regional water system that will deliver drinking water to Gleichen and then in other phases to Rockyford, Rosebud and Hussar.
The Village will be holding a bi-election in 2016 for a councillor’s position as Deputy Mayor Ron Corbiell has resigned. Mayor Allen Larsen said, “He will be greatly missed and we wish him and his wife all the best.”
Larsen further said, “2016 will be a year full of change and the Village Council and staff are looking forward to the challenges.”
