Fatal collision on Highway 12 in Stettler Sunday morning

RCMP CREST COLOUR

In the early morning hours of October 11, Stettler RCMP members were dispatched to a single vehicle rollover involving three people. The collision occurred on Highway 12 in the Town of Stettler.  Stettler Regional Fire Rescue and Emergency Medical Services attended where the driver of a truck, a 20 year old male from the Stettler area, was pronounced deceased on scene.  Two 18 year old males from Stettler were transported to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries; 1 to Stettler Hospital via ground ambulance and the other to Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton via STARS.

Traffic on Highway 12 was re-routed while first responders were on scene. A RCMP Collision Analyst is assisting in the investigation. The cause of the collision remains under investigation; however, speed is believed to be a factor in the collision
