The Drumheller Dragons hosted the Lloydminster Bobcats for a Sunday afternoon home game and took a 4-3 loss in a shootout.
The Dragons' Connor Boyd opened the scoring just short of four minutes into the first period. By the end of the first period the score was 2-1 for the Bobcats.
The only goal of the second period came from Scott Ivey with 23 seconds remaining in the period tying the game.
The third period started with Tristan Thompson giving the home team a 3-2 lead before the Bobcats scored on the power play tying the game once more pushing an overtime period, and then a shootout. Each team had six shooters, but it was Lloydminster who scored twice giving the Bobcats the shootout win.
The Dragons will now have the week off to rest before hosting the Spruce Grove Saints on Saturday night. Game time is 7:30 p.m. at Memorial Arena.
