Drumheller Dragons lose to Olds in first exhibition game

    Monday marked the beginning of the 2010/2011 season for the Drumheller Dragons, and even though the team took a loss against the Olds Grizzlys, the game was a valuable demonstration of what the new Dragons could do.

Turville commits to Concordia Thunder

   The Drumheller Dragons would like to congratulate Pat Turville on his recent commitment to Concordia University College of Alberta for the 2010-11 season.
    Turville, a 1989-born, 6’0”, 178 pound left wing/centre from Olds, Alberta, completed his first season with the Dragons in 2009-10 and was a strong offensive threat in every game he played, averaging 0.7 points per game for the Club.

Veteran Dragon core returning for strong season

   After a long wait, the Drumheller Dragons will be returning to the den this month when they begin training for the upcoming season.
    With an exhibition game scheduled against Olds on August 30, the team will be back in the locker room on the 26th.
    Head coach Dan Price is hopeful for this season, as the team has kept the same core that has now become older and stronger.
    “We have let it evolve naturally,” Price said last Wednesday...

Fratkin commits to Elmira College

The Drumheller Dragons would like to congratulate Casey Fratkin on his recent commitment to the Elmira College Soaring Eagles (NCAA D-III, ECAC West) for the 2010-11 season.  

Fratkin, a 1989-born, 5’11”, 185 pound defenceman from Burnaby, BC, recorded one goal and nine assists along with 50 penalty minutes in 31 games played for the Dragons this year.

Former Dragon on Allan Cup winning squad

    A former Drumheller Dragon now has his name attached to one of the oldest and most respected hockey trophies in the country, after the AAA senior men's Fort St. John Flyers won the 2010 Allan cup.
    Arlo Hadland played for the Drumheller Dragons during the 2003-2004 and 2004-2005 seasons. He then attended SAIT and won an ACAC silver medal.
    He has since returned home to Fort St. John, B.C., and has been on the Flyers’ squad for three seasons. Last year the Flyers lost...
