JOHNSON, Wesley C.
January 5, 1961 - April 23, 2013
Wesley C. Johnson – Wes was born January 5, 1961 in Medicine Hat, Alberta. Wesley was predeceased by his parents Herb & Gloria Johnson. He leaves behind, his two sons, Jerad and Jason, his brothers, Darwin (Kate), Kevin (Cindy), his nephews, Barry (Sarah), Bradley, Jesse, Lucas and great nephews, Aedyn and Tristyn, also his Aunt Betty and Uncle Corney, many cousins, and many good friends. Wesley joined the Armed Forces, serving his country with honour and pride. After leaving the Armed Forces, he settled back in Drumheller and began his career at the Drumheller Penitentiary. It was there that Wes received many awards for his excellent marksmanship. Wes enjoyed life to the fullest each and every day, especially when he was hunting, or on the shooting range. The family would like to thank all of Wes’s friends for their support and kindness during Wes’s time of need. Also the Tom Baker Cancer Centre (Calgary) for their kindness and continuous efforts to keep Wes comfortable. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday May 1, 2013 at the Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Glenn Reeder officiating. Interment to follow at the Drumheller Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alberta Cancer Society, 1331-29th Street N.W., Calgary, Alberta, T2N 4N2 and S.P.C.A. (Animal Rescue) 10806 124 Street N.W., Edmonton, Alberta, T5M 9Z9. Courtney-Winter’s Funeral Home are in care of the arrangements.

SCOTT, Robert Edward
June 4, 1965 - April 27, 2013
Robert Edward Scott was born June 4, 1965 and passed away April 27, 2013. Our beloved brother left us suddenly and unexpectedly. Robert was predeceased by; his parents Marie Scott and Don Calder. Robert is survived by; his siblings: Stella, Dale, Roxanne and Carmen along with numerous nieces and nephews. Robert was a solitary figure, quiet and reserved. His interests ranged from computers, science fiction, hockey and health. He lived a very simple life, enjoying walking, exercising and going for coffee and talking to the people at Yavis’s Restaurant. Never wanting to bother anyone, his needs were few. He was loved by all who knew him and always wanted to make people laugh. He enjoyed his work at Yavis’s Restaurant and his co-workers were like family to him. The family would like to thank his friends who watched over him, Mali, Enayat, and Ian Daniels as well as neighbors who assisted in our time of need thank you so much, your love will always be remembered. A Memorial Service for Robert will be held at 11:00 A.M., on Friday, May 3, 2013, at Courtney-Winters Funeral Home, Drumheller, Alberta, with Jerry Beskowine LWL, officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined. Those who wish, memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Courtney-Winters Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements (403 823 2666).

LENNON Mary Ann
September 21, 1917 - April 24, 2013
Mary Ann (Wallace) Lennon passed away peacefully in Grande Prairie, AB with her family at her side. Mary was a long time resident of the Drumheller Valley. Mary was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Bill; her son, Bob; and her sister, Rosedale. Mary is survived by her children, Mary (Owen) Mailey, Dolly (Don) Chenard, John (Linda) Lennon; daughter-in-law, Barbara Lennon; and sister, Florence Davies. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Mary’s love and interest in her family was always apparent to them. She loved knitting, sewing , stitching, and crocheting. She enjoyed a lifetime of music which included playing violin and piano with her sisters - meeting her future husband while playing in the orchestra. Mary also sang with the Valley Chapter of the Sweet Adelines for many years. Mary’s passion was puttering in her gardens, as she loved flowers everywhere, and the birds that visited them. Mary will be sadly missed by family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at Knox United Church in Drumheller, AB on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 3:00 pm.
