COUSINS
Kenneth (Kenny) Alan

November 20, 1960 - March 3, 2022

It is with great sadness we express that Kenny has lost his long, hard battle to cancer.
Kenny is survived by his loving wife Karla Cousins, daughters Kimberley Payne & Brandi Joyal, son Casey Cousins, grandson Danny Payne, sisters Diana Garred, Linda Freeman (Wally) & Kathy Lowe (Don), 5 nieces, 5 nephews, 4 great-nieces and 2 great-nephews.
Kenny is predeceased by his Dad Alan Cousins, Mom Fan Cousins, and daughter Britni Joyal.
Kenny has always worked in the field of oil and gas and considered Atco to be his second family. Kenny’s contribution to the Village of Carbon has not gone unnoticed, from curling club, volunteer firefighting and coaching soccer, to helping someone with their furnace.
Kenny had integrity, loyalty, and a kindness to help anyone in need. His support and help were offered at the drop of a hat. Kenny was well loved by anyone who had the honour and privilege of knowing him. The people who have been touched by Kenny will miss him dearly.
We have encountered so many wonderful people during this journey over the past 18 months.
Special thanks and love to Dr. Pabani (And Lexi for your support and answering my countless calls) at the Tom Baker Centre (and all the amazing staff). To Wendy and Dr. Brock Randolph at the Drumheller Cancer Centre and to the amazing staff at the Acute Care Department at the Drumheller Hospital. We would not have been able to travel this 18-month journey without all your love and support.
In Kenny’s honour, memorial donations may be made to Strathmore Lions Club or Tom Baker Health Centre: Oncology Unit.
A family Memorial will be held at a later date.

Condolences to the family of George Wood Moar

MOAR
George Wood

January 26, 1926 - February 27, 2022

George Wood Moar passed away on February 27, 2022 at the age of 96.
George was born on January 26, 1926 to John and Margaret Moar. He was raised in the Orkney district, along with his five siblings, Laura, Margaret, Stewart, Marcus and Robert. He loved being a farmer and working alongside his brothers. He thought the world of his older sisters and enjoyed sharing fond memories and stories about his childhood and years on the farm.
George married Isabel Odermatt in 1978, and they built a home in Nacmine in 1980. George was a good friend to Isabel’s grown children and enjoyed many years with Isabel until her passing in 2005. He remained in their home until failing health resulted in him having to go to the hospital the day after his 96th birthday.
George enjoyed a simple life. He was humble, kind and generous. His family and friends were in awe of his amazing memory and ability to remember dates/birthdays.
George was devoted to his family, loving us all unconditionally and without judgment. His only remaining sibling, Robert, looked forward to George’s nightly telephone calls. His only remaining sister-in-law, Alice, nephews, Clint, John (Wanda), Brent (Bev), and nieces, Maureen (Mel) and Laura (Doug), all shared a special bond with Uncle George, as did his great niece, Teanna (Carson), and great nephews, Chad and Grayson (Jordan). He was precious to us all.
George so appreciated home care assistance and being doted on while in the hospital. He endeared himself to many as he seldom complained. He had wonderful neighbours in Nacmine and was fortunate to have developed a strong friendship over the past few years with Allan Koch, who shared his interests in cars and gardening.
George enjoyed reading his Bible and was a devout member of the Orkney Presbyterian Church. He often said that “the day you die is better than the day you were born”. We are comforted by that sentiment, which he held fast to until the end. We know he is beyond happy to be reunited with family and friends who went before him.
A celebration of George’s life will be held at the Orkney Presbyterian Church on March 12, 2022 at 1:30, after which we hope all who attend will head over to the Orkney Community Centre for “coffee and pie”.
Donations in George’s memory can be made to either the Salvation Army or the Orkney Athletic Association (Box 2721, Drumheller, AB, T0J 0Y0).

Grace enjoyed curling, bowling and socializing at the Fire Hall. She had a wonderful circle of friends that she enjoyed spending time with.
