1925 - 2010
Della passed away quietly, surrounded by family, on Dec 30, 2010. She is survived by her loving husband John of Drumheller, sister Doreen Peterson (Warren) of Calgary, son Ken McNair (Karen) of Summerland BC, daughters Bette Thacker (Ben) of Calgary and Bev Jozsa (Dan) of Wrentham, 7 grandchildren and 3 great grand-children, stepsons Ian Rowe (Isobel) of Gleichen and Lyle Rowe (Diana) of Michichi, and their respective children. Della was predeceased by her daughter Connie Cowan (Dwain) of Bassano and her parents Stan and Elizabeth Rushton. Della will also be missed by her other family members and many friends. The family would like to offer a special thank you to Dr. Khoza, the staff at the Palliative Care Unit at the Drumheller Health Center, and the Home Care staff. The family also wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Jordon whose surgical skills 36 years ago surely enabled her to be with us for all those additional years. Funeral services will be at the Knox United Church in Drumheller on Wednesday January 5, 2011 at 1:00 PM. If desired, donations can be made to the Palliative Care Unit of the Drumheller Health Care Center or the Canadian Cancer Society.
