Bob passed away in Calgary on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at the age of 59 years after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his wife Frances; his children Angie (Matt) and Robbie (Shawna) and his grandchildren Shayla, Joshua and Caleb and Treighton, Elissabeth and Caleigh. He is also survived by his brother Ted (Geri) and his sister Annette; sisters-in-law Bev (Brian), Penny (Gordon) and Ellen (Jim) and his brothers-in-law Harvey (Wendy) and Peter (Hazeline). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews; his “special daughter” Deena and her daughters Stephanie and Melinda. Bob was born in Drumheller and raised in the Rowley area. After high school, he went to work at Cominco in Calgary and later Agrium in Carseland, as well as working the family farm near Rowley. He was predeceased by his parents, George and Gertrude, sister Diana (Jim), brother Floyd (Shirley), and brother-in-law Dave, as well as his mother and father-in-law, Penard and Mary Hildahl. Bob was a good neighbor and friend to all. He was always very proud of his children and grandchildren who he loved very much. There will be a small Memorial Service at a later date. If so desired, memorial donations can be made to the Tom Baker Cancer Centre (1331 29 Street NW, Calgary, AB, T2N 4N2) or the Canadian Cancer Society (Unit 200, 325 Manning Road NE, Calgary, AB, T2E 2P5).
