MACDONALD, Agnes (Aggie) Christine
1922 - 2010

Agnes (Aggie) Christina Macdonald of Drumheller, AB beloved wife of the late Oliver (Obb) Macdonald, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2010 at the Drumheller Regional Health Complex, at the age of 88 years. Agnes was born in Bothwellhaugh, Scotland on March 24, 1922. She came to Canada in 1928 with her parents, was raised and educated in the Hamlet of Midlandvale, AB. On June 24, 1945 Agnes married the love of her life, Obb Macdonald. They shared 56 years together. Aggie worked in retail at the Macleod’s Store in Drumheller. She received a gold watch and ring for her dedicated service of 30 years at Macleod’s. Everybody that knew Agnes will remember her for her love of the sport of hockey. She was always interested in most sports throughout her life but hockey was her passion. Agnes loved the “Edmonton Oilers” and she would give you a good argument if you were the unfortunate one to be rooting for the “Calgary Flames”. Her presence at the “Blue Line” in the Drumheller arena will be notably missed. Agnes is survived by her two daughters: Gloria Frehlick of Taber, Alberta, Corrine Macdonald of Drumheller, Alberta; one grandchild Jodene (Jim) Sekura of Taber, AB; two special nieces: Sandra Kirschenman of Medicine Hat, AB and Sharon Warwick of Ontario and sister-in-law Oriole O’ Dwyer from Calgary, AB.  Agnes was predeceased by one son Robert (Bobby) Macdonald, deceased at the age of 18 months and her husband Obb in 2002; two sisters: Margaret (Peggy) Stewart and  Elizabeth (Betty) Marcus; four brothers: John (Jack) Powell, Edward (Eddie) Powell, William (Bill) Powell, Arthur (Art) Powell as well as numerous nieces, nephew and their families.  Funeral Services were held at the Church of the Nazarene on Tuesday, October 5, 2010.
