POLYCH, Stanley

Stanley Polych was born at Drumheller on August 27, 1930 and passed away at the age of 80 years on September 12, 2010. He resided in Drumheller most of his life leaving Drumheller at a young age to seek work in various places around Alberta returning in the late 1960’s and staying ever since. Stanley worked as a mechanic in Calgary before returning to Drumheller where he was later employed as a cement worker. Stanley was a fun loving bachelor who loved to joke with his nephew, nieces and great nieces and nephews. He was very social and enjoyed visiting while having meals and coffee breaks at various local restaurants. Stanley loved to collect stuff and often was seen somewhere around Drumheller picking up worldly treasures. Stanley spent his last years living at Drumheller Continuing Care and loved the attention and great personal care he received while there. He could always be found out in the lunch room drinking coffee and talking with the staff and other residents. Stanley is survived by his brother Walter and various nieces and nephews.  Stanley was predeceased by his father Carl, mother Phyllis, step-father Percy, brother Frank, nephew Allen and great-nephew Stephen. Funeral services will take place on Friday, September 17th, 11.00 a.m. at Courtney-Winters Funeral Home with Interment to follow at the Drumheller Cemetery. Flowers are declined. Donations if desired may be made to the Drumheller Continuing Care or any charity of choice. Courtney- Winters Funeral Chapel entrusted
with arrangements.
