UPTON, GEORGE WILLIAM
May 10, 1924 - August 31, 2010

It is with heartfelt sadness that I announce the peaceful passing of George (Bud) William Upton, my beloved husband of sixty-four (64) years. George, a husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, is survived by his sons Ron (Kathryn) and Cliff (Ida); Grandsons Jeff (Gail), Wes (Lisa), Dallas (Lynnette), Shane (Krista) and William; Great grandsons Brayden, Tyson, Jackson, Tristin, Ryder and Wyatt; Brother Fred; Sister Florence (Barry Gordon); Brother-in-law Stan Baptist; Sister-in-law Betty; and many nieces, nephews and friends. George is predeceased by his parents John and Isabella; his brothers Albert and Harry; his sisters Anne and Marion; and his great grandson Tyler. George was born on the Rumsey Homestead May 10, 1924. He was a very proud member of the Royal Canadian Army, joining in 1941, and volunteered for the Special Forces Canada-USA, stationed in Montana. I met George while we were both serving in WWII on the Suffield Base. We married on March 29, 1946 in Edmonton on our way to starting our new home in Presville. In the summer of 1959, we returned to the Rumsey family farm with our two sons Ron and Cliff. Then we continued to reside on our farm until we moved to Trochu. Funeral service was held on September 7, 2010 in Rumsey, Alberta. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in George’s honour to STARS or to the Royal Canadian Legion, Big Valley branch #70. PRAIRIE WINDS FUNERAL HOME Trochu, AB were in care of arrangements, 403-442-2200.     {jathumbnail off}
