WEBSTER, William John (Jack)
April 28, 1932 - May 11, 2010

William John (Jack) Webster of Big Valley passed away in the  morning of May 11, 2010 at Stettler, Alberta.   On April 28, 1932 Jack was born on the Webster family farm south of Big Valley which became his home.  He went to Snake Lake School until the war, and then completed his schooling in town.  Jack married Irene Wiland in 1954 and together they raised five children.  He became a leading member of the community along with the 4-H Club, Elks, Legion, Historical Society, Ag Society, Big Valley Athletic Association, County Recreation Board,  and the Northern Railway.  In 2003 Jack married Kathleen Konschuh and they moved off of the farm and into town.   Jack displayed a quiet strength, loving guidance, always had kind words and the time to listen.  We will always remember the twinkle in his eyes, the way he told funny stories with tears rolling down his cheeks, singing and whistling a tune (especially his snorting pig song) .  Jack is survived by his wife Kathleen; Children Karen (John Martin), Judy (Doug Johnson), Debbie (Elden Hartung), David (Tammy) Webster, Danny (Andrea) Webster; Sister Doreen Tolker; Sisters-in-law June Webster, Margarette Levesque, & Marie Brenchley and fourteen wonderful grandchildren.  He was predeceased by his first wife Irene (Sandy) in 2000, brothers Lloyd & Bruce & sister Thelma (Sally) and also by his parents Ed and Annie.  A funeral service took place at the Big Valley Jubilee Hall on Friday, May 14, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. with the Rev. Susan Bowyer of the Big Valley United  Church officiating.  Family and friends gathered following the interment service at the Big Valley Cemetery at the Jubilee Hall for a time fellowship and light refreshments which was graciously served by members of the Big Valley Royal Purple.  As an expression of sympathy, and in loving memory of Jack, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice in care of Brennen Funeral Home and Cremation Services P.O. Box 193 Stettler, Alberta TOC 2LO who were entrusted with the care and arrangements.  Condolences can be e-mailed to the family at brennenf@telusplanet.net. 403.742.3315.
