Niels Robert (Bob) Madsen of Drumheller, Alberta passed away peacefully on August 7, 2009 at the age of 87 years. Bob was born July 31, 1922 in Drumheller to Chris and Sophie Madsen. He was raised on the family farm by Dalum, the oldest of three siblings. Bob was employed as a School Driver for many years and continued to live in Dalum until 1963 when he met and married the love of his life, Edesse Due. Bob and Edesse moved to Hussar where they farmed until 1973 at which time they retired to Drumheller. Bob and Edesse never had children but had a large family comprised of nieces and nephews, that held a special place in their heart, along with many friends in the area. Bob, affectionately known as “Uncle Bob” to so many, was a big hearted man that will be remembered for his smile and sense of humour, and missed by all who knew him. Bob is survived by his sister Eleanora (Bill) Vogt of Picture Butte, Alberta, special little sister Rita (Olav) Pallesen of Drumheller, Alberta as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Bob is predeceased by his parents, his wife Edesse, and his sister Elene Montgomery. No funeral services will be held.
