RUSSEL, Annie (Jones)
Annie passed away peacefully at the Drumheller Hospital May 9, 2009 at the age of 94. Annie was born in Stellerton, Nova Scotia on July 20, 1914. She moved to Drumheller with her parents in 1922, believing the coal mines in Drumheller to be safer than those in Nova Scotia. Educated in Drumheller, she worked as a secretary prior to her marriage to Stewart in December 1939. They farmed north of Drumheller for 38 years, retiring to Drumheller in 1977. For the past 3 years Annie has been a resident at the Sunshine Lodge. She was predeceased by her husband Stewart, parents Annie and Albert Jones, sister Elizabeth Brown and brother Albert Jones. Annie is survived by her sons Donald (Debbie), Neal (Gay), Blair (Fran), seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, sister-in-law Isobel Bradford and brother-in-law Harry Brown. She was a long time member of Knox United Church and a member of several community and farm associations in the Munson district. Funeral Service at Knox United Church, at 2 P.M. May 20, 2009.
