Ed passed away peacefully at the age of 82 on Monday, November 17, surrounded by his loving family. He was an easy-going soul who loved life to the fullest. His greatest joys came from spending time with family, being outdoors and travelling. Ed had an amazing work ethic and was a crane operator for over 40 years in Calgary with local 955. Ed is survived by his wife of 56 years; Shirley; his daughter Heather (Cam) and son Dwayne (Shari); as well as 5 grandchildren Dylan (Jen), Shelsey (Tony), Cassidy, Kate and Ryan; 3 great-grandchildren Hayleigh, Sam and Carlo; and brother Nick (Jean). He was predeceased by his sons Darryl and Troy; as well as his parents Justina and Jacob. Ed was also predeceased by his siblings Liz, Kay, Anna, Jake, Betty, Irvin and Heidi. A celebration of Ed’s life will be held at Water Grove Park (Hall), 99 Arbour Lake Road NW, Calgary, Alberta on Friday, January 9, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alberta Children’s Hospital (www.childrenshospital.ab.ca), as per Ed’s wishes.
